2008 BURGUNDY, FRANCE
MJCT is about riding, food, and adventure - and Burgundy is no exception.
We start our trip riding through Nuits-St.Georges, Pommard, Chassgne-Montrachet, & Vosne Romanee - villages rich in wine history. We'll taste and learn about Grand Crus, Premier Curs and the Pinot grape used to make these great wines.
We'll ride to Chateau du Rochepot and the famous, Chateau du Clos de Vougeot built by Cistern monks. You'll ride over rolling hills and through more vineyards in one day than most have seen in a lifetime.
The next part of your adventure, takes you into a land of wooded hills, lakes, and pastoral villages. We'll ride where few other people venture, and enjoy the incredibly quiet roads of the Morvan region of Burgundy.
Leaving the wooded hills behind, we venture back into the vineyards of the Cote d'Or. We're going to Beaune, the wine capital of Burgundy. After a great day on the bike, we'll descend into the labyrinth of caves underneath the city of Beaune.
About the Wine....
Burgundian wines have a history and pedigree that is unique. Did you know there are only 33 vineyards that produce Grand Cru wines, as opposed to 600 vineyards that produce Premier Cru?
On our trip you will have the opportunity to taste the difference between an average and exceptional wine. Learn how to read a wine label to choose between a Grand Cru, Premier Cru, Village or AOC bottle, the next time you are faced with a wine list.
About the Accommodations....
